We received this update from Lexi (at the right of this picture) letting us know what is going on with her and her brother Buckeye. Here's what she wrote: We had big news at our house at the end of April. Buckeye earned his therapy dog cape. In order to earn a cape from Fidos for Freedom, a dog must be part of the program for at least a year, and they only award capes once a year at the annual banquet in April. Buckeye has really been a therapy dog for about a year and a half. Mom and I are REALLY proud of Buckeye and we think he looks really handsome in his cape in the attached pictures. Don’t you? (I’ll tell you a secret… Really, I handed down my cape to Buckeye. It was too big for me, but Mom told the Fidos folks not to worry about that when I got mine last year, since she knew Buckeye would be getting his this year, and he’s a little bigger than I am. So, really Buckeye has my cape and I’m getting the new one, but Mom says they are identical – she just sewed the Canine Good Citizen patch on the new one – except that the smaller size fits me better.) Anyway, we hope you are all as proud of Buckeye in his cape as we are! We hope all you Moms and dog-Moms out there are having a great Mother’s Day!
